In our five day trip to Baltimore, we indulged ourselves in exploring cultural landmarks, savory cuisine and culinary wonders, and historic sites. Each and every visit to the top attractions in Baltimore filled us with pleasure and appreciations the of city’s beauty. In this blog, we will go through the adventurous and lively experience of discovering the top-notch places to visit in Baltimore, Maryland.

Day 1: Highlights of Inner Harbor Exploration

Ready to start the travel adventure with great enthusiasm, we packed our luggage in the early morning and began our journey around 9:00 AM. We arrived at a hotel a short distant inner harbor and settled in to relax ourselves after an exhausting journey of 5 hours. After resting for two hours, we were eager to explore the city’s mesmerizing places. Moreover, the inner harbor presents one of the most iconic and stunning waterfront views, as we strolled down the area. On top of it, the charming sight of boats waving over water and the gentle breeze blowing around us uplift our spirits.

Setting an amazing tune for our first dinner in Baltimore, Phillips Seafood presented the fresh and savory seafood. Their crab cake, grilled crab, and steaks were the highlight of our dining experience in this restaurant. Furthermore, the welcoming atmosphere and the top-tier services made us feel like home.

Day 2: Adventure at Museums and Maritime Excursion

The second day was all about educating ourselves about the history and culture of Baltimore and discovering the famous museums. Furthermore, we also explored the maritime adventures in Baltimore, highlighting the nautical history of the city.

Our first must-visit destination was the National Aquarium, where we witnessed the most beautiful marine life, such as fishes from different families, dolphins, and sharks. Additionally, the dolphin show was the most delightful part of our visit. Kids were fascinated watching the dolphins solving tricky tasks. Moreover, the engaging exhibits kept everyone involved, appreciating the ocean conversion.

For a flavorful lunch, we chose Miss Shirley’s Café, relished for its Southern-inspired cuisine. We loved their chicken and waffles and kids enjoyed their delectable sandwiches. The cozy and relaxed atmosphere made us recharge before exploring other adventures.

Next, we went back to inner harbor to stroll down the Historic Ships in Baltimore. The place gave us a glimpse of maritime history of the United States, such as USS Constellation and the USCGC Taney. Moreover, the USS Torsk, a maritime museum, was another highlight, showcasing the life of sailors in the 19th century. The overall exploration was incredibly informative and adventurous, making it a memorable day.

To wind down our second day, we headed towards Oriole Park at Camden Yards to enjoy a baseball game. The enthusiasm of the crowd, the suspense of the match, and the thrill of overall game pressure made the atmosphere dynamic and full of energy. In short, it was a fun experience even for a person like me who is not a die-heart baseball fan.

Day 3: Discovering Art and Culture

For the third day, we decided to focus on the art and culture of Baltimore, learning about the traditions and artistic talent. The city’s rich cultural scenes took us to the Walters Art Museum, one of the popular art museums in the United States. The museum entertained us with an extensive art collection from different genres and styles. Furthermore, marking its name as an institute, the place offers everything to history buffs, such as Egyptians’ ruins to Renaissance artwork.

We dined at the Food Market in Hampden for lunch. Their inclusive menu with a wide range of vegan and non-vegetarian dishes made our day, as we savored their delicious salads, cheese cake, and loaded fries. Kids were delighted by their yummy sandwiches and fresh juices.

After regaining the energy back, We decided to explore Fort McHenry in the afternoon. My husband organized a guided tour to get a deep insight of American heritage. Additionally, we were thrilled to join the flag-raising ceremony and witness the reenactment of the “War of 1812”. The stories of patriotism and sacrifices connected us with the past of brave ancestors. Moreover, we captured all the beautiful monuments and moments on the phone to keep this day in our memories.

Our third day evening was packed with the adventure of watching live theater performances at Hippodrome Theatre. The exquisite architecture and mind-bobbling stage performances adds magic to our third day experience in Baltimore.

Day 4: Exploring Science and Shopping Scenes

For the fourth day in Baltimore, we opted to explore the Maryland Science Center, a place to learn about modern technology and science. Furthermore, the planetarium show was the top-notch activity to get involved, escorting us on a tour through the cosmos. On top of it, the dinosaur mystery and kids room was a hit for kids, learning different scientific aspects through playing.

The lunch was done at Lexington Market, one of the historic eateries in Baltimore. The vibrant atmosphere and high-end seating arrangements was second to none. Furthermore, we loved their pit beef sandwiches, burgers, and vegan salad.

For shopping, we went to Harborplace and looked around various clothing stores and gift shops. Kids collected some toys and candies while my husband and I bought some t-shirts and souvenirs. The quality of all items and the kind attitude of shopkeepers made our shopping experience truly enjoyable.

In the evening, we reached Federal Hill Park to watch the scenic sunset along with relishing the breathtaking views of Inner Harbor. Kids enjoyed playing different games on the ground and making new friends. My husband and I relaxed at the beach area while admiring the beautiful scenery.

Day 5: Farewell Day

For our last day in Baltimore, we picked the Baltimore Museum of Industry to learn about the industrial aspects and past of the city. The stunning artifacts exhibit how the city developed into its current state, highlighting the spirit and hard work of citizens. Moreover, the kids took part in hand-on-activities, happy with the adventure of exploring different sessions of the museum.

Last lunch in Baltimore was planned at Faidley’s Seafood, hyped for their crab cakes and raw oysters. With our tummies full, we headed to the Maryland Zoo, featuring all wildlife and pet animals. Kids were thrilled watching the playful acts of monkeys and majestic giraffes. They insisted on taking a ride on the park train and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the zoo.

With a heavy heart, we bid a farewell to Baltimore with a delicious dinner at La Scala, a perfect end of culinary experience in the charming city. Furthermore, their classic dishes including pasta primavera and tiramisu were a hit in their extensive menu. After enjoying our dinner, we took a leisure stroll through the Inner Harbor and went back to our hotels to pack our luggage.

Evaluating Our trip Adventure in Baltimore

While heading back to our home, we were all filled with memorable moments and travel delights of our Baltimore trip. The remarkable historic landmarks, cultural scenes, artistic talent, hospitability, and colonial past has made our trip to Baltimore an ever-lasting experience.
