Visiting The Fort McHenry National Monument Baltimore

by awais

Played a pivotal role during the Battle of Baltimore and served as fortification,  Fort McHenry holds a special place in the nation’s history and beacon of strength and resilience for the future generations. Extending over Locust Point Baltimore, this historic shrine is one of the most significant and famous historic landmarks in Maryland. Today, known as the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, this shining example of courage and hope was the key inspiration for Francis Scott Key to write a poem “Defense of Fort McHenry”, which later turned out to be the beloved national anthem of the United States.
