My husband has a military background and I have always been a historic buff, loving to explore the national and historic landmarks in Maryland. Last summer, we planned a getaway to Locust Point and our very first mission was to explore the rich history of Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. 2- Join Flag Changing Ceremony
We also participated in the flag raising ceremony, and the guided tour explained the 15 star, 15 stripe flag history. Furthermore,visitors can join the ceremony daily in the morning and evening. However, weather changes can affect the schedule, mostly in winter.
