Mountain Grass Unit is a dynamic young bluegrass quartet from Birmingham, Alabama, known for putting a fresh spin on the genre. The band consists of Drury Anderson (mandolin, vocals), Luke Black (guitar, vocals), Josiah Nelson (fiddle, vocals), and Sam Wilson (bass, vocals), who combine traditional bluegrass with bold experimentation. Drawing from country, jazz, funk, rock, and even metal, their sound reflects a shared love for music and innovation. Their 2024 debut EP, Runnin’ From Trouble, features original tracks and creative covers, paying homage to influences like Tony Rice and Billy Strings while carving out their own unique style.
