Find Dog-Friendly Activities in Annapolis, Maryland

by support

Exploring the city and finding dog-friendly activities in Annapolis is not very challenging. Talking about my experience, Annapolis is among the best pet-friendly towns I have visited so far. Moreover, it allows you to spot various pet-friendly restaurants, shops, boutiques, and recreational sites to enjoy a trip or a day out with your furry fellow. However, there are a few sites that restrict pet entrance, such as the U.S. Naval Academy, some shopping centers, and a few art and museums. But, the city features activities to enjoy with dogs and we have highlighted all of them to help you experience a best adventure.

Visiting Quiet Waters Park

Quiet Waters Park is one of the best recreational spots in Annapolis for all seeking a fun day out with their dogs. From dog beach to walking trails and dog park, you and your furry friend can enjoy a perfect day out. Moreover, your dog can enjoy swimming in the South River while playing around and making new friends. I took my dog last weekend to Quiet Waters Park where she ran around in the large open ground and played with a ball.

Enjoy Boat and Cruise Rides

Annapolis, known as a sailing capital and a beautiful waterfront city, features the best watersports and activities. If you are touring or exploring Annapolis with your dog, boat and cruise rides offer a memorable and exciting experience. For example, Watermark Journey is one of the premier boat tour agencies, allowing people to carry their pets of all ages on a cruise ride. Furthermore, you can book a private water taxi if your pet is not habitual to being around the crowd.

Explore the Art Galleries and Museums

There are a few art galleries and museums that allow friendly little pups and dogs. Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park welcomes small well-behaved puppies to come inside with their owners while the big dogs can walk around in the parks. If you are carrying a dog, outdoor exhibits are perfect for exploring the art scenes of this vibrant city. Besides, 49 West Coffeehouse hosts pet friendly outdoor seating, offering  opportunities to visitors with pets to explore the art gallery.

Pet-Friendly Dining Sites

The thing I like the most about Annapolis is the array of dog-friendly dining options in this capital city. Annapolis, known for waterfront beauty, is a hub of multiple top-notch restaurants, showcasing the wonderful culinary delights. From seafood and cuisine restaurants to wineries, breweries, wine bars, and pubs, you can enjoy everything with your pet. For example, if you are seeking a perfect waterfront dining experience with your furry friend, Pusser’s Caribbean Grill, Boatyard Bar and Grill, Federal House Bar and Grille, and many other restaurants are the best options. They offer a pet-friendly atmosphere in an outdoor seating arrangement, also presenting a happy meal and water bowls for your barking buddies. Eateries like Tsunami, Iron Rooster, Julep Southern Kitchen & Bar, Davis’ pub, and others are very dog-friendly dining spots in Annapolis.

Moreover, you can come along with your four-legged friend to Forward Brewing, Chessie’s Wharf, and Great Frogs Winery. Additionally, these breweries and wine bars allow you to sit and enjoy the best-curated collection of brews and wines.

Walking along the Waterfront Trails

Strolling around the waterfront trails of Spa Creek and City Dock is among the great relaxing outdoor dog-friendly activities in Annapolis. You can sit on the benches by the waterside and relax with your canine companion while relishing the boat docking and gentle breeze. Whenever I need some me-time from the hustling city life and hectic routine, I choose to take my dog on a walk along Spa Creek trails. It always makes me feel so calm and relaxed, refreshing my mind.

Join Some Dog-friendly Events or Festivals

Annapolis hosts many cultural events and festivals that allow pets, such as First Sunday Art Festival, Barktoberfest, Dinner Under the Stars, and Paw and Pumpkin Fall Festival. These events offer opportunities to spend a fun day out with a lot of pet-friendly activities. At the First Sunday Art Festival, hundreds of vendors and local artists come out to display and sell their work. Barktoberfest is another fascinating dog-friendly event in Annapolis, presenting a dog-costume contest, dog-adoption opportunities, and other exciting activities.
